panel config bug - alpha setting not kept

My apologies for cross-posting this on the LXDE mailing list and here, but not knowing where it'll get read by the right people, I'm going to try both places.
I like my panels semi-transparent (alpha=192). However, whenever I edit a panel in any way, the panel config file is updated with an alpha setting of zero. I don't think this should be happening. Other than editing the config file by hand, is there a simple fix?
