Hi The other things are, how do I create a new folder on my desktop? When I right-click on my desktop, there is no create new folder option. So is this not possible? Am I going to have to create a new folder in an already existing folder and then drag it to my desktop? Or is there a work around for ...

Re: open as root?

Strange. You should have "PCMan file manager" and the new created "PCMan Root" in your LXDE menu. http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/img/1256743129.png This my file /usr/bin/launchasroot.sh #!/bin/sh #------------------------------------------------------- # Start program export launchasroot=' <windo...

But now that's good! with "Exec=gksu /usr/bin/pcmanfm" and not "Exec=gksu -l /usr/bin/pcmanfm & " in my file pcmanfm_root.desktop

Re: open as root?

Hi Neal Thank you but it doesn't work for me, I have the same answer: File doesn't exist 1-Install "gtkdialog" 2- In /usr/bin create a file "launchasroot" (tested with launchasroot.sh) with your script, and set permissions for Owner and Group 3- In /home/freely create a .desktop file with the second...

Re: no audio

What directory should I look in for that file? /home/ur_login/.xinitrc The xinit program is used to start the X, but if you are on ubuntu you have to create the file manually (and probably install xinit) I'm on ArchLinux and the problem is solved for me but there are maybe an other way if you have ...

Re: no audio

Hi
Same problem for me: audio ok with gdm but nothing with slim.
Solved like that:
If you have "exec startlxde" in .xinitrc
Remove this line and try "exec ck-launch-session startlxde"
