I am CERTAINLY no expert, but have been using debian 5.04 a while. If it were me suggesting for someone not a guru, I'd suggest: apt-get install synaptic and then I'd go to Synaptic on the System tools menu, and do a reload, then search for lxde. I only suggest that because I don't know how to do it...
