Looks like a bug, yes, because if you have a folder selected it opens it in terminal with no problem.
(At least PCManFM 0.5.1)

First create .desktop file with LXShortcut http://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXShortCut . Invoke it (in terminal) with "lxshortcut -o wantedshortcutname.desktop" - replace "wantedshortcutname" with desired filename ie "seamonkey". A window should pop up; GUI is quite selfexlpanat...

Try changing the Exec command to "python /home/knoppix/somescript.py" and copying the resulting *.desktop file to /home/knoppix/.config/autostart.
