Ronnie, welcome to the LXDE forums. However, I think you have joined the incorrect forum because this one is solely about the Light X11 Desktop Environment. You question deals with the installation of Fedora and would be better handled in the Fedora Forums, https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/c/ask...

Re: Problem with Launchers Losing Their Visibility Following Login

William, add the launchers to the lxpanel and you should fixed up although I fail to see how the lack of access to your launchers is hindering your ability to use lxde. Lxde is merely a desktop environment. If you are having problems recommend you seek assistance from your OS forums which I believe ...

Re: Need help installing LXDE

Welcome to the lxde forums. Since you are using pacman, I can assume that you are using Arch or some derivative of Arch. The correct command to install it is: pacman -S lxde After installation you can start it by running: startlxde There is no need to run it from a root terminal. If you are having p...

Re: I would like to contribute to translations!

As you probably already know, this forum is not associated with the lxde translation project. I would recommend that you get on their mailing list and ask there. I believe that it is https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxde/lists/lxde-i18n. I am not quite sure of their level of activity but that is whe...

Re: Trouble with LXDE Panel Not Displaying After Startup

Welcome to the lxde forums. What distro do you have the DE installed on? Did you download the DE separately or was it included in the initial download of the Linux distribution?

Re: Difference between lxde and lxqt

Welcome the lxde forums. Reference to which is lighter on resources, that would be lxde. However to base your decision solely on which one uses less resources is a bit foolish since RAM is so inexpensive and plentiful today. As to which is being actively developed, that would be LXQT. However, lxde ...

Re: How to Customize LXDE for Better Performance?

Welcome to the lxde forum. Recommend that you read a few of ziggi's posts on this forum. His efforts are in the direction of speed and resource conservation, eliminating applications that he does not use and tweaking the remainder. Lxde, of course, does you little good if you start with a bloated OS...

Re: How to install Debian with LXDE

Welcome to the LXDE forums. First, LXDE and Gnome as well as the others listed are merely desktop environments. They are not operating systems. They generally bring their own applications when installing them. Gnome is probably the most popular among all of the Linux distributions. LXDE uses fewer r...

Re: LXDE doesnt respond to mouse

Welcome to the lxde forums. If you want anyone to look at and respond to your thread, it might be a good idea to provide them with a few details such as which operating system you have installed on your computer; Debian, Arch, Fedora, etc. /usr/bin/startlxde should start the lxde desktop environment...
