I would not let a lack of a response hold back a future request. I would go ahead and submit it. However, you are aware that it would take time so I would simultaneously write my own code to accomplish what I wanted PCMan to do. You could also share it with the readers of this forum if you would like.
Welcome to the LXDE forums. You are correct in saying that the proper place to raise a future request is with the developers and they seldom if ever visit this forum. For the time being lxde and lxqt are both being developed. I believe that Lubuntu is the only major distro that has chosen to replace its DE. There may be others. That is what we do electrosteam. Hopefully you can contribute here now. I do not understand why the problem slipped through because many others have registered successfully. In any event welcome to the LXDE forums.
Welcome to the LXDE forums. Of course LXDE is not dead. Lubuntu, a flavor of Ubuntu, appears to be replacing LXDE with LXQT (a merge of LXDE-Qt, an initial Qt flavour of LXDE, and Razor-qt, a project aiming to develop a Qt based desktop environment with similar objectives as the current LXQt).
