help! need *.desktop to execute script

Post by kevinfish »

Help, I really need a /usr/share/applications/*.desktop file to run a script rather than an executable. I have tried putting it in the TryExec= keyword and the Exec= keyword and neither works. The script is in the path and runs fine from the shell.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Don't try to put the script in your .desktop file; it should be a separate, executable file.
