Hey, guys.
Brand-new to LXDE.
Just installed LXDE on my old Dell Inspiron|1100 lappie (under Arch). So far, so good...
I notice that the window buttons ("Close", "Apply" , etc) are all very "boxy"--straight edges, sharp corners, etc... Is there a way to change their appearance? Or is that the price I pay for a lightweight, peppy system?
I've tried changing some themes, but they don't seem to affect the buttons in question...
Thanks!

Re: "Boxy" Buttons
I'm not using Arch, so bear with me. In Lubuntu there is a program called Customize Look and Feel where you can change colors, widgets, fonts, icons, etc. It is found under Preferences. I'm not sure if it is an LXDE thing, but you could look there.

Re: "Boxy" Buttons
Yeah, I found that...but it isn't changing the shape of the buttons--just colors and text and such...
I have a weird feeling that it might be a GTK / GTK 2 thing? (I don't really know much about that.) Maybe GTK(1) is boxy like this??

Re: "Boxy" Buttons
I have been playing with the stuff on Lubuntu after I replied to your post and I guess my stuff sort of looks boxy as well, but I'm not using it for eye candy. I'm using it for the smoking speed that it has.

Re: "Boxy" Buttons
Well, GTK2 is already installed on this system...so either I'm not using it properly, or that's not the problem. I'm hip to the 'speed' argument--but it would be nice to understand what makes it look the way it does, and how to change it (and if that's even possible)...

Have you looked around at box-look.org? A lot of other styles you might like better.

Re: "Boxy" Buttons
I have poked around there... downloaded a couple of themes. They changed the title bar, etc...but the buttons retained the boxy look I'm not lovin'...
