I use the application launch bar (on the panel with the task bar) to launch slow programs like firefox.
My problem is there's no visual feedback that the app is lauched or not.
I suppose i'm the only person with this problem. But I always end up staring at the App Launch bar for seconds and trying to figure out if firefox is lauching or not.
It makes me feel really stupid. Help!

No, you are not the only one who is waiting, although the program has never failed to launch. I too am starring at the screen for a couple of seconds until the screen indicates that Firefox is launching. I always thought that it was just a quirk and I am living with it. There may be something that can be done but I am not aware of it.

Re: Application Launch bar giving me problems.
I have another problem with the bar, see if you have any clue: in Lubuntu, we cannot use the bar/panel vertically (on the left side) as in Xubuntu and others, to save screen in smaller devices. If we put the bar there, the buttons keep horizontal and the bar it's more than an inch wide!!??
Any clues?

In any LXDE install, the panel geometry can be adjusted to any size by right clicking the panel and selecting panel settings.and the bar it's more than an inch wide
My experience with Firefox in Lubuntu is that it does not work well. That is why Lubuntu comes with Chromium-browser.
