Bless You. I recently installed Fedora LXDE vers.20 on my old laptop which was installed vers . Windows XP sp 3. The automatic installation of Fedora has been successful ( installed on 25GB of free space on the disk that I had ) but on reboot I have a problem to open the windows version and Fedora part regularly . To whom I could turn to give and get information ? Thanks in advance.
P.S.
I am a novice Linux although in the past (fifteen years ago ) I was able to experiment with a version of Unix .

Re: A newcomer to Linux asks for help
Welcome to the LXDE forum. I am not sure if your problem is LXDE related. Is it correct top say that you cannot boot XP but can boot Fedora? Does XP in show up in the boot menu? If it does, what happens when you try to boot XP? Are you getting any error messages? How did you install Fedora?

Re: A newcomer to Linux asks for help
thanks for the prompt response . I will provide below a series of details
disk partitions before installing Fedora:
unallocated 27GB none Primary (subsequently here I installed Fedora: boot 500MB, root 24,5GB, swap 2GB)
local disk C: (NTFS) 36,5GB active Primary
Extended 89GB none Primary
unallocated 55MB none Logical
Applications D: (NTFS) 33GB none Logical
sysimage S: (NTFS) 56GB none Logical
After Fedora installation and rebooting it, appears the follow bootloader mask:
Fedora, with Linux 3.11.10-301.Fc20.i686
Fedora, with Linux 0-rescue-5D40E60E0F0D9B3337F227DD3564
Microsoft Windows XP Professional (on /dev/sda1)
When I select Windows XP appear the following two messages:
error: no such device 9C400FAB400F8B6A
error: Attempt to read or write outside of disk 'hd0'
While the other two voices perfectly work

You best bet for a quick answer is probably on the Fedora Forums, http://forums.fedoraforum.org/index.php
Perhaps someone with Redhat knowledge will chime in here. From my limited knowledge of Fedora, press any key during the Fedora splash screen. That should give you the grub menu. Do you have a choice called Other. If you do pick it. Does XP boot? If not what happens?
