Color strangeness

I am experiencing a strange color issue.
My desktop is like this.
I am getting the wrong background color, specifically the system theme color, in the tray.
My panel is set like this:


However, when I start up, the panel tray looks like this:


If I then set opacity to 255, close, then set opacity to 0, I get what I want:


I have no idea why this setting needs to be restored. Any clues?

I don't think that it is a bug. I could not reproduce it in December 2014 and I cannot reproduce it now.

i see a very small difference in the background of the mail icon, nothing else.
is that what you are talking about?
if so, what application does that mail icon belong to? try autostarting that application with a few seconds delay.
