I am a bit puzzled with this.
I missed the KDE device notification (dolphin) where I was able to mount/unmount devices. I thought that was a feature from kde so I started looking around for alternatives which pointed me to autofs/automount.
I installed a few packages, started to play around some configuration, and w/o changing any configuration from default, I rebooted and a notification of new media started to work, I was asked to open file manager when a device was plugged. I was happy!
Now, after a few days, that stopped working. Even after a reboot I cannot seem to have that working again. I thought that this was related again to autofs, but I realized autofs is for mounting devices when accessed, not launching a notification to mount them on LXDE. So I wonder, can anyone help me pin point this issue.
It worked before, so it has to work, but I don't really know where to look.
Thanks.

usb drive detection and notification
Re: usb drive detection and notification
I'm taking a random guess, but do you have the package gvfs installed? For me it solved my problems with USB detection in LXDE/PCManFM.
Re: usb drive detection and notification
yes, I have gvfs installed. I just installed gvfs-bin just for the sake of it but no real change really but I did have the important needed gvfs packages installed
