LXDE doesnt respond to mouse

Post by neilschneider »

Hello,
I installed LXDE and it worked fine, then I installed 7zip which wouldnt open when executed so I restarted the system

I then typed in /usr/bin/startlxde
by accident instead of:
xinit /usr/bin/startlxde

and ever since then lxde loads but then wont respond to mouseclicks so i just get a desktop to look at.

I have xfce installed but it took up about 20 per cent of CPU when nothing was happening. Is there anyone having the same issue? Any advice for solution? :?:

Welcome to the lxde forums. If you want anyone to look at and respond to your thread, it might be a good idea to provide them with a few details such as which operating system you have installed on your computer; Debian, Arch, Fedora, etc. /usr/bin/startlxde should start the lxde desktop environment just as /usr/bin/startxfce should start the xfce desktop environment (which you apparently also have installed). The inability to use the mouse should not be caused by which DE you have installed.

You can restart LXDE correctly using `xinit /usr/bin/startlxde` to ensure proper initialization. Check if the mouse is detected using `xinput list` and troubleshoot missing or misconfigured drivers. If the issue persists,Incredibox Colorbox Mustard reset LXDE configurations by deleting `~/.config/lxsession` and restarting to recreate default settings.
