Greetings!
Im having an issue with lxmusic in general, and I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I had lxmusic-0.4.4 on my last laptop that unfortunately had too many repairs and had to go to the great recycle bin in the sky. It had Debian/Lenny and worked awesome with LXDE. I had to compile lxmusic-0.4.4 from source, but it worked great after that.
I replaced it with a Gateway LT2104u netbook, and had to switch to Debian/Sqeeze so that my wireless would work. I installed lxmusic-0.4.2 from the source CD, but noticed that I could not actually add music to the library: It'd scroll and the all music would disappear. I compiled lxmusic-0.4.4 from source again, but now when I go to play a file from the library, the lxmusic interface dies and can not be reopened. Meanwhile the music continues to play in the background.
Listen music player is also glitchy, so Im suspecting it has something to do with the xmms2 client packages. Songs in VLC work fine, aside from the massive memory usage compared to lxmusic. Im not convinced its a bug in lxmusic itself, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
as you said, it could depend on (a never version of) xmms2, please post what LXMusic says when started from console.

Re: lxmusic-0.4.4 problems
I get the same problem -- UI dies, music keeps playing whenever I try to play a file. This happens both with lxmusic-0.4.2 from the debian squeeze/testing repos, and with a freshly compiled 0.4.4 version.
I am running debian squeeze/testing on a turion64 x2 processor. (on what used to be an Acer Aspire 5050)
on the command line, lxmusic just segfaults and dies.
while the music is still playing, but after the UI has crashed:
xmms version:
Has anyone got any hints as to how to troubleshoot this? Or are there debug flags that can be turned on when compiling?
