Hi all! I have a problem!
While setting my desktop, the icon of MY DOCUMENTS has disappeared but I don't know why! I'm using Kubuntu 9.10 with LXDE installed via APTITUDE.
Thank you for helping!
I guess all other icons, if there had been some, are gone, too? Open PCManFM and have a look at the desktop tab and have a look at the first checkbox, ("Manage the desktop ..."). If not checked, check it.
yes, other icons are gone too. sorry but PCManFm opens my home folder...
ok...right! I found what you told and "manage the desktop..." is checked! Maybe I'va to restart...I'm trying now
Wow! I've the icon of My Documents and other icons, but firefox one!
Mhm so only firefox is gone. You can do several ways, to get it back:
1. go to "/usr/share/applications" and copy the file named "firefox" to your desktop. (It's a so called *.desktop file, which starts firefox )
2. If you have LXShortcut installed you can right click on firefox in your applications menu in LXPanel and say "add to desktop". (This is doing the above step automatically, but needs LXShortcut. )
I didn't think it could be possible, but when I saw in usr/share/application folder, firefox hadn't an icon!
So I tried the second way...no results! Firefox hasn't an icon.
P.s. LXShortcut is installed on my pc...
Anyway, tahmk you for spending your time. It's not a problem. I'm using LXDE for its speed
yes...there is the file not the icon or image...the same problem with "openbox session" and "monitor settings"...there is the file but not the image...
Then as root I installed the new PCManFM as you told. I rebooted. Well...Firefox hasn't icon...But it's not important! Thanks installing PCManFM, I learnt how to open file.tar.gz without Ark
Thank you for your time!
