1) Lxde displays entries placed in ~/Desktop as desktop icons. In my install, they display top left down, sorted by type - directories appear before launchers - but there seems to be no pattern to the order in which they display. It's not alphabetical by name, or chronological by datestamp, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it. I believe PCManFM handles this, but can't find any options affecting it.
2) File names in a directory list doesn't seem to use standard ASCII collation. When I sort by name, leading non-alpha chars are ignored, so I'll see things like

Is there a simple fix for this, or will it require a new version of the file manager? It's actually a show stopper for what I do.
