Is Lubuntu(Lxde ubuntu) faster than Windows 7?

I mean faster in computing speed, similar applications such as a movie player,using video editing software tips .
I am not fancy about W7 candy look or its DX 11, the only thing is that it has an edge over XP is the computing speed meaning finishing the task faster(of course in optimal requirements 2GB or overlaptop battery).
So is the LXDE version of Ubuntu faster in computing,don't confuse light with computing speed.
