I have been shopping around for lighter Desktop in exchange for Gnome for my Toshiba laptop. LXDE appeals very
well however I have not find a way around setting up a multiple language keyboard switch.

As I do use different keyboard types in Gnome, I can just add the switch to the panel and define the languages I need.
How can I add such or similar switch in LXDE?

Hello, there does not appear to be a dedicated LXDE application forthat, but I'm sure you can just install and use any of the following:
xxkb qxkb
